🔍 Troubleshooting

1. Desktop: No display or device not detected?

Cause: Most dedicated GPUs have only 1 HDMI port (usually used by the main monitor), the rest are DP ports.

Solution: Quake only supports HDMI input. You need a DP to HDMI adapter for Quake.

2. Windows laptop: No reaction, screen not detected?

Cause: Windows laptops have two types of Type-C ports:

  • ❌ Regular data Type-C (no video output)
  • ✅ Full-featured / Thunderbolt Type-C (with DP video output)

Solution: Must connect to a full-featured Type-C / Thunderbolt port that supports video output.

3. Mac: Dock compatibility issues?

Cause: The included dock has poor compatibility with all Mac models (Intel / M-series MacBook, Mac mini), often causing USB disconnects and detection failures.

Solution: Do NOT use the included dock with Mac devices. Connect directly to the native port.

4. Surface Pro: Won't work or resolution issues?

Cause: Quake currently doesn't support Snapdragon ARM-based Surface devices. Drivers are not adapted for ARM64 platforms.

Solution: Use a standard Windows x64 computer.

5. HDMI shows picture but computer doesn't detect Quake? (Most common)

Cause (90% of cases): Users mistakenly think the USB cable is just for power, plugging it into a phone charger instead of the computer, leaving no data path.

Solution: USB-A to C must connect directly to the computer USB port for data transfer. Do not plug into a charger.

6. Screen turns off after 10–20 seconds?

Note: This is not a defect — it's by design. Quake shows a boot logo and then enters standby mode automatically.

Solution: Install the Quake desktop client to wake the screen and load the system interface.

7. AI voice chat error after software installation?

Cause: User hasn't logged into their account. No valid Token or Credit balance, so AI voice features are not activated. This is not a hardware or software defect.

Solution: Open the Quake client, log in to your account. Once authenticated, the Knob AI voice chat will work normally.
